A New York Times Book Review article by Leszek Kolakowski states that its impossible for God to be happy and absurdly asserts "The true God of the Christians, Jesus Christ, was not happy in any recognizable sense." Thus, the heavenly realm is a gloomy place. I think its the other place that is the gloomy place. What kind of gruesome madness is this? If I was God, eternal and indestructible, able to create anything I wanted, I would be, even in the midst of satanic opposition and human unbelief, extremely happy all the time. Not happy to see suffering in the world, but happy that I had provided a Savior and a coming new heavens and new earth. Only the dry and dusty old tomes of morose scholastic theologians claim that God is so "exalted", He cannot have any feelings. They have abstractly "reverenced" God right out of human experience, setting Him on some distant, remote level that He is numb, insensate, completely uncaring and unconcerned, unable to relate to human sensations, "un-knowable", residing in an aloof ivory tower of cosmic elitism. The Bible states that God has a wide range of emotions.
