Many people are sorry only for the effects of their sins or for being caught . That is sorrow without repentance. Both Peter and Judas denied Christ . Peter had remorse and repented of his denial of Jesus . Judas was bitter and took the action of suicide . One repented and was restored to faith and service . The other took his own life . 2 Corinthians 7:10 says Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret , but worldly sorrow brings death . " Do you have a hatred for sin , a righteous fear of God and a desire to right all wrongs ?
