John 8:12 Jesus said to the people , " I am the light of the world , if you follow me , you wont be stumbling through the darkness , because you will have the light that leads to life . " We dont need any more reminders that we live in a dark and evil world . John 1 : 4-5 says , "Life itself was in Him , and this life gives light to everyone . The light shines through the darkness , and the darkness can never extinguish it . " This means that the darkness of evil never has and never will overcome Gods light . We as believers are not the source of Gods light . Jesus is the true light , He helps us see our way to God and shows us how to walk along that way. We as followers of Christ , merely reflect that light to an unbelieving world .
