GOP has only one path open to it to regain the White House in 2016. A naked appeal to White Tribalism. Circle the wagons, boys, were surrounded on all sides by brown-skinned, yellow-skinned, black-skinned "colored" folk. The GOP will have to increase their share of the white vote from 60% to 64%. If they cant regain the White House in 2016, their only fall-back position for national stature is to at least maintain control of the House of Representatives. GOP House Speaker John Boehner is a virtual captive of the large Tea Party contingent within the Republican House caucus. They dictate to him and in the process only succeed in preventing ANYTHING of consequence from being generated by that body. The House that roared is in fact a mouse in real terms. Political posturing and propagandizing to cater to their "base" base back in their home districts , the GOP-dominated House is full of sound and fury signifying nothing. The only thing standing between cataclysmic insanity and the ordinary lives of Americans is the U.S. Senate, itself wrapped up in knots due to an archaic and dysfunctional fillbuster rule. Roar, the House will - until 2014. The recent defeat of the simple, basic universal background check for gun purchases in the U.S. Senate despite a 90% approval rating for such a requirement by the American public now puts all Republicans in Congress in the crosshairs of retribution from a voting electorate who will well-remember the disgraceful lack of statesmanship by the GOP within the U.S. Senate when it comes time to vote in November 2014. Hasta la Vista, Boehner, Cantor, McConnell, Imhoffe, Cornyn, Coburn, et al. Go ahead, boys, keep roaring!
