In 1989 Elaine Pasquas mother and stepfather were diagnosed with AIDS. Witnessing the ravages of this disease as she cared for them, Elaine vowed to speak out so others would not have to experience the pain and loss that twice touched her family. Her journey began after her mother's death in 1995. She educated health and social service professionals about the psychosocial dynamics of HIV/AIDS, and discovered her passion as she worked with high school and college students. Hearing countless stories of students whose lives were changed by one inconsequential decision she broadened her research and expertise to develop one of the most powerful models for educating diverse groups about high-risk drinking, sexual responsibility, and sexual assault. Elaines extensive work with collegiate athletes has led her to provide player development training for the NFL, NBA, NY Giants, NY Jets, Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Phillies. A four time nominee for Best Speaker of the Year for Campus Activities Magazine Reader's Choice Awards, she is a contributing writer for their “Real Life on Campus” column and contributing author to “Welcome to the Time of Your Life.” Elaine was featured in USA Today, NY1 News, Time Warner TV, and Knight Ridder News Service. She co-wrote, directed, and produced “Be Aware of the Risks of Date Rape Drugs” which has been viewed over 600,000 times on YouTube Join us on at the Been There Done That Show on Saturday 5-11-13 at our website www.beentheredonethatshow.com
