My guests will be Nancy Miller, the Executive Director and CEO of VISIONS/Services for the Bling and Visually Implaired, and Janice Rimler, the CEO/Interpreter and Speech-to-Text Representative at All Hands in Motion, Professional Sign Language Interpreters, LLC. We will be discussing the advantages and challenges of hiring blind, visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing employees. Nancy has worked with people of all ages who are blind, visually impaired and multidisabled since 1971, and has been Executive Director/CEO of VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired since 1987. She is the recipient of numerous community awards including the Rehabilitation Practitioner of Distinction Award from the Metro NY Chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association, the Maggie Kuhn Advocacy Award from Presbyterian Senior Services, and the Senator John E. Flynn Recognition Award from the American Council of the Blind. Janice has been involved in the New York City Deaf Community socially and professionally since 1981. In 1986, she was asked by a prominent member of the Deaf community to teach American Sign Language. Janice wrote curriculum and instated that curriculum at New York City College of Technology/CUNY where she was the Coordinator of Interpreter Services for 17 years before resigning in 2006 when she established All Hands in Motion.
